Plain English Summary

We don't sell your data. We don't share your children's information. We don't run ads. We collect the minimum data needed to run the service. You can delete everything at any time.

1. Who we are

Prompt Bot Learning is an independent AI literacy platform for families. We are not affiliated with any school district, curriculum publisher, or AI model provider. Contact: hello@promptbotlearning.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run the service:

  • Account data: parent email and password (hashed).
  • Learner profiles: first name or nickname and an emoji avatar — chosen by the parent.
  • Learning data: comprehension score, completed lessons, quiz answers.
  • Homework Check submissions: the text or screenshot you paste in, and the resulting assessment.
  • Billing data: handled by Stripe. We store a customer and subscription reference only — never card numbers.
  • Usage data: aggregated analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.

3. Children's privacy (COPPA-aware)

Children never create accounts and are never asked to provide personal information.

  • All accounts are owned by a parent or guardian.
  • Learner profiles store only the first name/nickname the parent enters.
  • No advertising. No ad-tech tracking pixels.
  • No behavioral profiling beyond what's needed to adapt difficulty.
  • No transmission of voice audio (read-aloud runs in-browser).
  • Parents can delete a profile or the entire account at any time.

4. How we use your data

Only to: deliver lessons, adapt difficulty, run Homework Checks, sync progress across devices, take payment, send transactional emails (e.g. receipts), and improve the product in aggregate. We never sell or rent personal data, and we do not use your submissions to train our own models.

5. Homework Check and AI processing

When you run a Homework Check, the text or image you submit is sent to an AI model provider to generate the assessment.

  • Submissions are processed to return your result and are not used by us for model training.
  • Please don't paste sensitive personal information, or another child's work, into the tool.
  • AI detection is probabilistic — treat the result as a conversation starter, not proof.

6. Data sharing and third parties

We use the following processors, each contractually bound to handle data only as we instruct:

  • Stripe — payment processing and billing portal.
  • AI model provider — Homework Check analysis.
  • Email provider — transactional and account email only.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate site analytics, loaded only after you accept analytics cookies.
  • Hosting — cloud infrastructure for the app and database.

7. Data retention

We keep account, learner and progress data for as long as your account is open. Homework Check history is kept so you can review it, and is deleted with the profile it belongs to. Billing records are retained as long as tax and accounting law requires. Deleting your account removes your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law.

8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You can access your data, correct it, delete it, export it, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. Email hello@promptbotlearning.com and we will action your request within 30 days.

9. Educational disclaimers

Prompt Bot Learning is an educational tool, not a substitute for parental judgement.

  • AI tools and best practices change rapidly; lessons are kept current but no resource is exhaustive.
  • The platform does not replace mental health, medical, or legal advice.
  • Adaptive scoring is a heuristic, not a formal psychometric assessment.
  • We make no guarantees about specific educational outcomes.

10. Read-aloud feature

The read-aloud button uses the Web Speech API built into your browser. No audio is recorded, transmitted, or stored. The text is spoken locally on your device.

11. Cookies

Essential cookies (session and preferences) are always on. Analytics cookies run only if you accept them in the consent banner, and you can change your mind at any time. We do not use advertising cookies.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post any material changes on this page and update the date below. Significant changes will also trigger an email to account holders.
