The early adopter advantage: why 2025–2027 is the window that matters

TL;DR

The window for AI fluency to become a generational advantage is short. Families who treat AI literacy as a normal weekly habit between now and 2027 will compound that advantage for the next 20 years.

Every general-purpose technology has a short window where early literacy compounds disproportionately. The PC had one. The internet had one. Mobile had one. AI is in its window now.

What 'window' actually means

It isn't about being first to buy a tool. It's about being early enough that fluency becomes intuition — the kind of fluency you can't fake by reading a tutorial five years later.

The advantage isn't access. It's instinct. And instinct only comes from practice during the formative years.

Why 2025–2027 specifically

  • Tools are capable enough to be useful but simple enough to learn.
  • Costs are low — free tiers do real work.
  • Defaults aren't locked in yet — there's still room to shape how a child uses them.
